Person-Centred Gathering

Tobar Mhuire, Crossgar

A theme of, 'Being'

Saturday 12th April 2014 9.30am to 4.30pm

Reflecting on his experiences in both large and small community groups Carl Rogers wrote:

"I realise that of all the ventures in which I have ever been involved,

this was the most thoroughly person-centred" Carl Rogers ‘On Personal Power’

The next Person-Centred Gathering will be held on 12th April, at Tobar Mhuire retreat, Crossgar. This will be our fourth person centred gathering and you are all welcome

The gathering is based on a tried and trusted model that occurs regularly in the Person-Centred community worldwide. It is an opportunity for personal and professional growth, self-awareness, and the understanding of others while meeting new people and having a good time. The focus is on Being,                      processing in the here and now, and engagement with others.

The structure of the day is fluid and in the past we have begun by checking in and acknowledging the theme for the day; checking in within the group and coming together in a variety of ways. Some of us bring material for collaging. We have had mindful walks in the grounds, shared food together and mostly talked. For those who want to work creatively you are invited to bring along anything that you might want to share. The day usually evolves.

There will be time to process our experiences within the group.

Tea/Coffee and lunch are provided and we can agree times at the start.

We ask each person to be responsible for her/himself and to contribute towards the 'duty of care.’ We are committed to creating an environment of the Core Conditions where individuals are accepted and

valued, where we each strive for empathy and authenticity. Since the gathering is not ‘directed’ each member of the group is able to take personal responsibility. The gatherings can be challenging, exciting and deeply moving. The gathering will determine its own confidentiality.

The cost of the gathering will be £25 per person and this will include tea, coffee, lunch and booking of the large meeting room. The gatherings are organised on a not-for-profit basis.
