What is the answer to the question of the meaning of life?

Douglas Adams in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy suggested that the answer to the ultimate question of the meaning of life and everything was 42.

So what is the answer to the question of the meaning of life? 

When you don't need to answer the question anymore?
or even when you don't have to ask it.
